Dolphins
do not breathe spontaneously like the human being. They have to deliberately
bring their heads above the surface of the water in order to breathe.
This cause dolphins to live in the present... the NOW — with each breath
they take, they say YES to life!
How
often do we use our spiritual energy to live with thoughts about what happened
in the past —emotional pain; worry and what may possibly happen in the
future. We often forget to live NOW! We can learn so much by
watching dolphins. They follow a balanced diet. They eat just
enough for what they need in order to live healthy. They do not substitute
love with food, because they experience the fulfillment of effective communication,
healthy relationships, support, touch, harmony and physical exercise that
brings joy. They have the ability to play and make life enjoyable
to themselves, without external stimuli. Dolphins are not self-conscious.
They do not even think of what others will think of them.
They
just ARE.
Their
gathering with other dolphins seems to be effortless and harmonious.
When they fall into a line and jump out of the water at EXACTLY the same
moment, it happens so smoothly — seemingly more through attunement than
planning. They are self-aware instead of self-conscious. A
dolphin’s life reflects these words : "My life is pure gold. I own
nothing; do not worry about anything or the future. I just
enjoy every moment of my life and experience an effortless balance." Dolphins
communicate with one another through musical sounds.
To
them their musical sounds mean harmony, communication, playfulness, joy,
contact and love. Dolphins do not contaminate life with dissonance!
We
communicate with words — and words are only symbols with which we express
concepts, ideas and emotions. It is thus not strange that we often experience
problems to express our thoughts and emotions properly?
Dolphins
do not have this problem — their communication is much more direct.
It seems that except for sounds, they also use telepathy to communicate.
Dolphins do not make war or fight with one another. An example we
can follow! They are not as self-destroying as human beings. Dolphins
really care. We are aware of all the stories of how they saved human
beings. It is so ironic that they save us, but we destroy them and their
environment.
Their
ability to co-operation is amazing. They have no stress in their
natural environment, the sea. The only stress they have is when they
are caught and put in small tanks to perform for the amusement of people.
Even
THEN they are doing their best and give maximum co-operation. Dolphins
know how to make their lives enjoyable. Just watch them when they
gambol playfully in the waves. It is so obvious that they enjoy life
to the fullest. Us human beings need "something" — and outside stimuli
— to amuse ourselves. Therefore people gamble, use drugs, buy compulsively,
etc. Dolphins never pretend!
Jesus
told us to be like children in order to enter His Kingdom. Dolphins
truly have this characteristic. They just ARE — no pretension.
Dolphins have a natural rhythm because the live in nature. Our rhythm is
broken
because
we moved away from nature and became “artificial”. They have an amazing
sensitivity, but they apply it in a positive and constructive way.
Self
pity is something they do not understand. They care about others
and there is NO sign that they expect something in return. They even
help others that are not part of their group. They are like the lilies
of the veldt — they own nothing and do not worry about tomorrow.
Because they do not own anything, they are FREE.
