Wishes from my heart for my stepson:

Dear Stephen

I have so many dreams for you … you have so much potential and you are such a wonderful young man!  How often do I wish I can just make all your dreams come true, when I see the hurt of ‘the real world’ in your blue eyes.

I have so many wishes for you… but I want to share with you what I wish for you especially for today:

For today, may a gentle light glimmer in that part of yourself you’ve kept hidden away.  For today, may you be graced with choices you perhaps never before realized as your own… or for years just seemed too far out of reach.  For today, may uncertainty transform into courage, and curiosity into permission — to explore that place deep within your soul … whispering your own truth, silenced for so long by influences out of your control.  This world almost teaches to assign your most cherished dreams to nonsense — and to accept that what you really want is what you will never have.  For today, may you find a light — a window of imagination and the faith in yourself — to create the life you secretly crave. May you know today, in the core of your being, that the life you want is there for you — belongs to you — and that NO ONE has the right to keep from you.  NOT TODAY, TOMORROW … or EVER!  My prayer for you is that you find eternal happiness and joy in the life our Savior intended for you!  I love you, Son!

As you keep growing and learning, striving and searching — it is vitally important that you pursue your own interests without letting anything hold you back.  It takes time to fully understand yourself and to discover what you want out of life.  As you keep growing and learning, striving and searching, I know that the steps in your journey will lead you to the right path.  Whatever happens in the future, I will always be rooting for your happiness and success — and you can always depend on my love and support.
